ThermEx helps eliminate bed bugs

Published by Dr. Bedbug under How to kill bed bugs

Because of the dramatic rise in bed bug infestations that are affecting our homes, hotels, apartment complexes or nursing homes two companies decided to join forces and come up with a solution.  Massey Services (a service provider in the pest management industry) and Chromalux (leading manufacturer of precision heat and control products) have come up with the ThermEx program.  The program will be released this month at this year’s National Pest Management Association’s annual PestWorld conference.  Along with the introduction of the product training will be provided by Massey Services.
What exactly is the ThermEx program?  It’s a revolutionary bed bug heat remediation.  From the ThermEx package you can expect a Chromalux designed heating unit and training from Massey Services.  Why heat? Research has shown that heat is a more effective method for treating bed bugs rather than residual products because of the fact that bed bugs can hide in extremely hard to find cracks and crevices making complete termination very difficult.  A heat remediation treatment usually will take 48 hours to eliminate an entire bed bug population while a residual treatment can take up to 12 weeks to work effectively. The focus of the program is for hotels and multi-unit housing such as apartments or nursing homes.

Bed Bug Trap

Published by Dr. Bedbug under How to kill bed bugs

Got bed bugs?  Why not try a scientifically designed bed bug trap to take care of the situation for you?  “NightWatch” is a new and upcoming bed bug trap designed by BioSensory to trap bed bugs with a proprietary, 7-part kairomone lure which uses the pests’ own natural, biological attractants and feeding instincts against them.  How exactly does that work? By mimicking the CO2 and heat of a human body, NightWatch combines this with safe and powerful lure to make the trap extremely effective at locating and catching bed bugs before they get a chance to bite you!

CDC 3000 eliminates bed bug problem

Published by Dr. Bedbug under How to kill bed bugs

The Climex Dectection Case (otherwise known as CDC 3000) is a new way of eliminating your bed bug problem.  In fact the CDC 3000 is also portable (comes in a small black case), which means you can bring it with you on vacations or whenever you stay in a hotel.  This could mean not bringing bed bugs home with you!  Wouldn’t that be amazing?
Much like another bed bug monitor, NightWatch, the CDC 3000 mimics the presence of a human body drawing in bed bugs.  The CDC can detect even incipient levels of bed bugs in areas up to 100 square feet!  The idea between the CDC is that it is not only portable but easy to use.  The case has a refillable CO2 canister (can be replaced at Cimex and other local paint ball supply stores).
An experiment was done using the CDC 3000 and it showed that after as little as one hour, bed bugs are drawn out of their hiding places.  They enter an opening in the case, which traps them in a small capture slide.  The slide is then removable, allowing you to count, document, and archive the findings in a safe and secure fashion. Slides are easily replaced to allow multiple tests in rapid succession or to allow the case to be moved from different locations.
