Bed Shield LLC – prevents bed bugs
Do you have unwanted bed bugs? Leslie Leyland could help you with your problem. You may be wondering who Leslie Leyland is. She is a entrepreneur from Cincinnati that has invested $250,000 to start Bed Shield LLC. Bed Shield LLC offers products that stop bed bugs from invading your bed – from mattresses, box springs and pillow cases. Leyland’s line has been endorsed by Snell Scientifics (an independent lab company that tests pest products).
The company’s launch coincides with a huge growing bed bug problem not only in the region but across the entire country. Hamilton County and Cincinnati public health officials announced a joint bedbug task force to attack the issue after receiving a rising number of complaints in recent years. The idea behind Bed Shield is that it will work alongside the task force to reduce the growing bed bug problem.
Because bed bugs live in mattresses, cracks, crevices, floors and furniture they can be found in a low-income housing unit just as easily as a five star hotel, so Leyland wanted to make products that were assessable to a wide range of people. Encasements for mattresses and box springs sell for about $50 to $100 and pillow cases for $15 to $20. Leyland has made a contract with American Hotel Register, a national supplier to the hospitality industry, to sell Bed Shield.
Leyland hasn’t given any sales or profit projections yet but is confident that her products will be profitable. While aware that Bed Shield products won’t completely eliminate bed bug problems she believes they will help immensely. Others agree that products from Bed Shield will be a critical tool in getting rid of bed bugs.
